Our work is characterized by a high scientific standard resulting from numerous research projects. At the same time, we understand the pressing concerns of companies thanks to our numerous industrial partnerships. 

This close connection between academic expertise and practical business understanding enables us to develop customized solutions for your individual challenges. 

We moderate the exchange between companies in cross-industry projects: You learn about solutions from other companies and industries and can transfer them to your company. In our training formats, we share our decades of experience and make it accessible to you.

In our bilateral industry projects, we develop individual solutions for your company. We focus specifically on the optimization of strategies, methods and processes in the area of strategic technology management. We not only offer you turnkey concepts, but also the operationalization and implementation of the solutions. 

Our project formats range from technology-based diversification, technology and innovation strategies and production concepts to the design of the entire technology management process, to name just a few.

In our consortium benchmarking studies, we analyze practical success factors from various industries and sectors. As a consortium partner, you play an active role in shaping the study, set priorities based on your specific questions and benefit from a trusting, cross-industry network. This offers you the opportunity to share experiences in an open exchange and to take away impulses for your company. You will also gain insights from five selected top companies. 

Consortium benchmarking runs for around nine months and comprises five steps: The kick-off meeting, the screening, the review meeting, the company visits and the final conference.

We discuss current technology management issues in our working groups. In doing so, we strengthen cross-industry exchange: in addition to research impulses, we incorporate best practices from industry and jointly develop practicable solutions in consortium workshops. In the working groups and consortium workshops, we focus on technology management topics such as resilience, digitalization, circularity and venturing.

We realize a wide range of cooperation opportunities for joint projects at the interface between industry and science. Thanks to our international activities in diverse networks and collaborations, we are ideally positioned to tackle interdisciplinary challenges beyond the boundaries of our institute.

The Aachen location and the unique ecosystem of the RWTH Aachen Campus Melaten not only enable us to cooperate closely with the Machine Tool Laboratory WZL of RWTH Aachen University, but also with regional and national companies in specialized research clusters.
